The alarm bells are ringing loudly at the Bauherren-Schutzbund e.V. (BSB)! After the break of the traffic light coalition, the BSB sees the continuation of the funding programs for private new construction and building modernization as being at great risk. The uncertainty surrounding the 2025 federal budget could lead to important funding from the Climate and Transformation Fund (KTF) being frozen. Such a stop would not only bring ongoing measures to an abrupt standstill, but would also cause financial difficulties for many consumers who are dependent on these subsidies.
“In view of the impending funding gap, haste is necessary,” warns BSB managing director Florian Becker. He urgently demands clarity from politicians. The uncertainty that has made it difficult to plan investments for years has led to consumers hesitating and putting their construction projects on hold. A funding stop would not only further dampen new construction activity, but would also endanger efforts to create more housing and climate protection. The numbers for new construction and modernization are already declining, and a further decline would be catastrophic.
