Fire department warns: Increased CO levels in Gevelsberg single-family home!
Gevelsberg– A dramatic operation for the fire brigade set alarm bells ringing! On Saturday evening, emergency services were called in when elevated carbon monoxide (CO) levels were discovered in a single-family home on Bockstrasse. What initially sounded harmless quickly turned into shocking news! The rescuers rushed to prevent anything worse from happening.
When the first firefighters arrived, measuring equipment was immediately used to clarify the dangerous situation. Fortunately, they discovered that the chimney from which the dangerous CO levels came was already extinguished. The rapid ventilation of the affected living area had an effect: soon CO values could no longer be measured! But the risk had not yet been averted - the district chimney sweep was called in to check the safety of the chimney. Operation of the fireplace was immediately prohibited until the situation was fully clarified.
Medical care for residents
The two residents of the house were affected by the critical situation and received immediate medical help from the emergency services. They were quickly transported to an area hospital to ensure they did not suffer any permanent damage. In addition to the main guard and the rescue service, the central and eastern fire engines were also on site to bring the situation under control.
