FCB continues to stagger: Riedenburg turns derby and secures important points!

An exciting derby in the Regensburg district league 2 ended with a dramatic 1:2 for 1. FC Beilngries against TV Riedenburg, who thus maintained their chances of promotion! The hosts from Beilngries now have to worry about staying in the league after giving up the game after a strong first half. A real heart-stopping moment in the Bierschneider Sportpark!

The first half clearly belonged to FCB, who started the game with a lot of enthusiasm. Nicla Schnagl converted a penalty in the 23rd minute after a foul by Riedenburg's goalkeeper Daniel Brunner. The hosts had several chances to increase the score to 2-0, but they failed due to their own incompetence. In the second half the tide turned and the guests came back into the game with a breath of fresh air. Substitute Martin Bader provided fresh impetus and equalized in the 50th minute after the Beilngries defense pulled off a slapstick move. The pressure from the Riedenburgers grew ever greater!

The turning point

In the 64th minute the time had come: Bader gave the guests a 2-1 lead and made the fans cheer! FCB could no longer react and only had a few long-range shots to offer. Coach Wolfgang Gmelch mourned the missed chance to make it 2-0, while Riedenburg's coach Andreas Schäffer praised his team, which fought back strongly after a weak first half. Despite missing out due to injury, only the three points counted for him!
