Last Friday, the billionaire commented on his X-profile about the shocking case of a twelve-year-old girl who was said to have been abused by a youth gang in Vienna for months. Musk commented on a post by user Dr. Maalouf, in which the fate of the girl is discussed in connection with the second acquittal of one of the perpetrators. “This is crazy,” said Musk, whose words sparked a wave of outrage as the atrocities went unpunished for years. The case has now generated massive response, with the perpetrators, including 17 boys aged 13 to 19, apparently going unpunished. The judiciary failed to provide the necessary evidence of violence for a conviction, which the girl's mother described as a "scandalous verdict" after she was handed just €100 in compensation at the trial.
