Burglary protection in Saxony: Police launch prevention campaign!

Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains. The police have noticed an increase in burglaries in Dresden and the surrounding area in recent weeks, which has led to worrying developments. To counteract this trend, the Dresden Police Department has launched a special prevention program that will be active in the region from October 21st to November 1st. As part of the “K-Einbruch” campaign, a specialized prevention vehicle will be on the road to give residents valuable advice on how to improve their burglary protection.

The consultations, which are carried out by experienced police experts, are free of charge and open to the public. Interested citizens can talk to officials on three fixed dates between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and receive tips directly on how to better secure their houses and apartments:

Consultation appointments in detail

  • 24. Oktober: Altenberg auf dem Wochenmarkt
  • 28. Oktober: Pirna auf dem Parkplatz Kaufland
  • 29. Oktober: Bad Schandau auf dem Markt

This preventative action is all the more important as there has been an increase in reports of burglaries in the region with the start of the autumn holidays. Several break-ins have been reported in Dresden and the surrounding area alone, including in Freital, where valuable jewelry was stolen in one case. In order to take targeted action against the perpetrators, an investigative group called “Riegel” was set up to ensure greater security at home.

For further information, the Dresden Police Department's police advice center is available all year round. This not only offers support during the special campaign, but also continues to answer all questions about burglary protection by telephone or email. You can easily contact us by calling (0351) 6524 3690 or by sending an email to praevention.pd-dresden@polizei.sachsen.de. These consultations are also free.

The prevention strategy aims to not only inform the population about current risks, but also to provide preventive measures that promote improved safety within their own four walls. This initiative is a significant response to the challenges posed by burglars in the region.
