Shock for Christmas friends in Straubing! The popular Coca-Cola Christmas truck will not be coming to town this year. The hopes of the city marketing and advertising community to bring the festive truck to Straubing on December 14th have suddenly failed. The reason? The city was unable to collect enough votes to prevail against the competition.
This year there are seven scheduled tour stops in Germany, but the organizers have also offered an additional stop. In an exciting online vote in which five cities took part, Straubing only came in second place. With almost 9,500 votes, Zerbst/Anhalt in Saxony-Anhalt secured the coveted award and will now be able to enjoy the festive atmosphere with the Coca-Cola truck.
The disappointment is great
The news disappointed many people from Straubing who had been looking forward to the spectacular event. The Coca-Cola Christmas truck is not only an eye-catcher, but also a symbol of the anticipation of the holiday. The festive atmosphere that the truck brings with it will be missing in Straubing this year. The city now has to look for other ways to properly celebrate the Christmas season.
