Younes Polenz, operator of the popular “NY One” café in Niesky, can celebrate once again! The café once again won the Sächsische.de reader vote and was awarded the best coffee. But that's not all: the burgers he serves are also very popular with 22 percent of voters, who rate the delicious creations as unbeatably tasty. “We always do what we think, not necessarily with the aim of being the best everywhere,” says Polenz modestly.
The former car mechanic discovered his passion for gastronomy during the pandemic and, in addition to the NY One, now runs a kiosk in the Niesky ice rink and a beach bar in Olba. His burgers, initially experimental with black buns and pulled pork, have established themselves as a heated topic. Now Polenz is opting for more classic buns and allowing guests to put together their own burgers. A real highlight of the food culture in Niesky!
