The joy was boundless as Burke was surrounded by his teammates and support staff celebrating the match winner. “He didn’t have an easy time here, so we’re really happy for him,” said defender Niklas Stark. Burke, who moved to Werder in the summer of 2022, was unable to meet the high expectations and was actually intended for sale after two loans to FC Millwall and Birmingham City.
