Aluminum foil factory in Neuruppin closes: 40 jobs at risk!

A shock for the region! The aluminum foil manufacturer Forti-Folien in Treskow near Neuruppin is closing its doors at the end of the year. Around 40 employees face an uncertain future as company management reveals the alarming reasons for this decision: fluctuating raw material prices and a dramatic drop in orders!

Forti-Folien, known for producing aluminum foil for large retailers such as Aldi, Rewe and Edeka, is part of the WEPA group from North Rhine-Westphalia. But the strategic direction has changed! The company is now focusing on sustainable hygiene paper solutions and is no longer focusing on aluminum foil. The last few months have been a desperate struggle to find a buyer, but all efforts have been unsuccessful. Production, which once amounted to three million rolls of aluminum foil per month, is now discontinued!

The story of a pioneer

32 years ago, Forti-Folien was one of the first settlements in the Treskow business park and has shaped the region ever since. But now the work is about to end. The employees will continue to be employed until the end of the year to process current orders. The closure is not only an economic loss, but also an emotional blow for the workforce and the entire region!
