Aluminum foil work in Neuruppin closes: 40 jobs in danger!

A shock for the region! The aluminum manufacturer Forti films in Treskow near Neuruppin closes his goals at the end of the year. Around 40 employees face the uncertain future, while the management reveals the alarming reasons for this decision: fluctuating raw material prices and a dramatic decline in orders!

FORTI films, known for the production of aluminum foil for large retailers such as Aldi, Rewe and Edeka, belongs to the Wepa Group from North Rhine-Westphalia. But the strategic direction has changed! The company now focuses on sustainable hygiene paper solutions and no longer sees aluminum foil. The past few months have been a desperate fight for a buyer, but all efforts have been unsuccessful. The production that once included three million roles of aluminum foil per month is now being discontinued!

The story of a pioneer

32 years ago, Forti films were one of the first settlements in the Treskow business park and has shaped the region since then. But now the work is about to end. The employees should continue to be employed by the end of the year in order to process the ongoing orders. The closure is not only an economic loss, but also an emotional cut for the workforce and the entire region!
