Wandlitz: Creative return of the tinder sponge as a new textile miracle!
Wandlitz becomes the center of creative mushroom fashion! Tinder fungus, also known as 'Fomes Fomentarius', is more than just a tree fungus - it's the key to a fascinating new trend. Beneath the hard shell of this centuries-old raw material lies an incredible story that is now being retold by the designer Nina Fabert, who is behind the ZVNDER label. In collaboration with a Romanian family business, outstanding textiles and products are created that put the almost forgotten raw material in the spotlight.
But that's not all! The event takes place as part of the special exhibition “FASCINATION MUSHROOMS – Mysterious all-rounders”, which opens its doors in the Barnim Panorama from July 7th, 2024 to July 6th, 2025. This extraordinary exhibition not only shows impressive mushroom exhibits, but also highlights the different habitats of mushrooms as well as their diverse benefits and dangers for agriculture, nutrition, the environment and health. And you'll be amazed at what can be made from mushrooms - from clothing to shoes to building materials and urns! After all, mushrooms are true all-rounders!
