Clear the stage for Carinthia's acting talents: Open Classes are starting soon!

The Neuebuehnevillach will soon become the center of young theater art in Carinthia. As part of a cooperation with the Carinthian acting course at the Carinthian Music Academy Ossiach, the Open Classes project is about to get underway. From April 24th, dedicated acting students will present their talents in various formats, including improvisational theater, classical monologues and modern productions. Up to four teams compete against each other in a creative competition, always striving to inspire the audience.

The leader of the first part is Erik Jan Rippmann. The other two parts of the open classes follow with different topics and approaches. “To Be or Not to Be,” taking place May 1-3, is dedicated to the performance of Shakespeare monologues, while “Gorgeous Female Images and Stupid Male Images,” May 8-10, promises a humorous examination of gender roles. A wide range of talents

The Carinthian acting course is aimed at a diverse age group from 17 to 57 years old, with no previous knowledge required. Classes take place on weekends and the next course begins in September 2025. Those interested can find out more on the CMA website: Theater Service Carinthia.

In addition, the academy provides experience in using theatrical means of expression such as physical, vocal and spoken expression as well as various acting techniques. The participants learn, among other things, role analysis, improvisation and dealing with different forms of theater. The educational offering also includes aspects such as art forms, development of production concepts and the independent implementation of theater projects. This initiative could not only offer young talent a stage, but also enrich the theater landscape in Carinthia. By giving them the opportunity to express themselves creatively, a new generation of actors and theater makers will emerge who can add their voice to the diverse arts community.
