Worldwide raid: large pedophile network Kidflix smashed in Austria!
As part of a large -scale international operation to combat child abuse, the Federal Criminal Police Office (BK) announced figures for so -called "Operation Stream" on Wednesday in Vienna. These investigations, which were led by the Bavarian Criminal Police and the Central Office to combat cybercrime in Bavaria, have now shown worldwide effects. In Austria, eleven house searches were carried out and a suspect.
The arrested suspect has a criminal history. The operation is directed against the "Kidflix" network, one of the largest pedophile platforms worldwide, which was founded in 2021 by a cybercriminals and quickly gained in popularity among pedophiles. To date, around 1.8 million users worldwide have registered on this platform. Alarming 91,000 videos were uploaded over their active period, which have a total term of 6,288 hours. Average 3.5 new videos were published per hour.
international arrests and consolidations
The Operation Stream includes participations from 35 countries, including the United States, and was particularly intensive from March 10th to 23rd, 2025. A total of around 79 people were arrested worldwide, including 10 in Switzerland. There, too, the cantonal police from Aargau, Bern, Basel-Landschaft, Geneva, Thurgau, Vaud and Zurich carried out targeted measures that took place in the same period. Not only suspects were arrested in the actions carried out, but also over 3,000 electronic devices and more than 91,000 videos.
Europol, supporter of this operation, analyzed numerous video files and transmitted valuable evidence to the affected countries. The arrested people are suspected of having looked or downloaded videos of the sexual abuse of children, while some are also suspected of active abuse. Most of the suspects are already known to repeat offenders and the law enforcement authorities.
protective measures and ongoing investigations
Thanks to the actions of Europol, 39 children in Austria have so far been protected against further exploitation. Sexual exploitation is now considered a serious threat to security in the EU. The EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner emphasizes the high value of organizations such as Europol in combating cross-border crime.
The investigation has not yet been completed because the perpetrators have apparently planned further criminal activities. Europol has confirmed that combating such networks is essential to protect children worldwide. The destruction of "Kidflix" represents significant progress in the fight against cybercrime, which is regularly becoming more important. The international commitment of investigators from over 30 countries shows how serious the threat is assessed.
Overall, this operation illustrates the enormous challenges and the need to decide to counter the sexual exploitation of children. Findings and measures from Operation Stream could result in fundamental changes in dealing with such cybercrime.
