Serious accident on the B299: 19-year-old ignores the right of way!
A dramatic accident rocked the B299 near Pressath on Tuesday evening! A 19-year-old girl from the Neustadt/WN district who was driving her Mazda apparently simply overlooked another driver when she turned. At 9 p.m. there was a violent collision in the intersection area with a 42-year-old woman from the Tirschenreuth district who was driving her VW on the priority road towards Kemnath.
The police describe the shocking details: While the 19-year-old wanted to turn towards Grafenwöhr, she crashed into the priority vehicle. Fortunately, the young driver was uninjured, but the 42-year-old suffered minor injuries from the force of the impact. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance. There was significant damage to both cars, amounting to around 10,000 euros each, and the vehicles had to be removed.
Traffic chaos for an hour and a half
The consequences of the accident were far-reaching: half of the B299 remained closed for around an hour and a half. The Pressath fire department was quickly on the scene and deployed 15 emergency services to regulate traffic and illuminate the scene of the accident. While the rescue efforts were underway, there were traffic delays, which caused additional excitement.
