Krawietz and Pütz: Dramatic comeback in the final in Turin!
In a gripping semi -finals, Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz made it possible! After a catastrophic start, in which they returned 2: 6 and 0: 2, the two German tennis stars demonstrated incredible fighting spirit and turned the game against the Australians Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson. With a final match-tiebreak, in which they had to ward off a match ball, they secured the victory with 2: 6, 6: 3, 11: 9 and catapulted themselves into the final of the seasonal finals in Turin!
a historical moment
The two Germans who had lost the same Australian pairing in the endgame of the US Open in New York have now been shown at their best. Despite a weak first set and initial difficulties in the surcharge, they fought their way back into the game. Krawietz, 32, and Pütz, who would soon be 37 years old, managed to stabilize in the second set and to get into the decisive match tie-break, where they ran behind for a long time.
The duo not only reached the semi -finals, but also wrote history! They are the first German doubles in the 55-year history of the tournament that moves into the final of the year end tournament. On Sunday they are now ready against the winners of the duel between Harri Heliövaara/Henry Patten and Marcelo Areavalo/Mate Pavic to fight the title. A triumph that could put the tennis world into turmoil!
