The current programs for cancer detection are mainly based on risk stratification according to age and gender. Lifestyle factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption as well as genetic predispositions and previous illnesses are not sufficiently taken into account in these programs. The assumption is that risk adaptation improves the benefit-damage ratio of cancer detection, such as Krebshilfe.de emphasizes. Research in this area focuses on the development and validation of concepts for risk -adapted cancer early detection. Among other things, parameters are developed and instruments for individual risk determination are tested. The concerns are also the analysis of needs and acceptance as well as the ethical, legal and social aspects (ELSA) of the risk adaptation in early detection. -transmitted by West-Ost-Medien Current trends in the early cancer detection
