Local hero Arno Schlereth secures new life for playground!

In the small community Öhrberg, the redesign of the playground has provided a lot of joy. Thanks to a generous donation from the local Arno Schlereth, which made a four -digit amount from the proceeds from his Christmas market two years ago, the project was started. Despite this support, however, the sum was not enough to cover all the necessary work, as the chairman of the association, beard, said.

The Bavarian State Forests, who promote non -profit organizations as part of their “regional sponsorship”, came to the rescue. This sponsoring is specially designed to support projects related to forestry. For the DJK association, which carries out the renovation, this meant not only financial help, but also support in the form of material.

partnership to improve the playground

Andreas Füller, the deputy forest operations manager in Hammelburg, paid

to the provision of Douglasienstammholz, stainless steel screws and wood chips. These materials came directly from the forest companies in Hammelburg and Bad Brückenau and were crucial for the implementation of the renovation work. The organization of the project took over in a leading role of the cashiers of the DJK, Thomas Fikar.

A committed team helped renewal various play equipment. The swing, fence and rocker were repaired in about 75 working hours, and a new bank was also installed under the old tree on the playground. The joint efforts led to a visible progress that makes the playground shine in new splendor. The newly designed playground is not only a feast for the eyes, but also ensures a successful start to the anniversary year of the association, which celebrates its 60th anniversary next year. This special event will take place on July 5th and 6th, and the preparations for this are already in full swing.

The efforts to play the playground are part of a larger vision of the community to improve space for children and families and at the same time use local resources. The commitment of citizens such as Arno Schlereth and organizations such as the Bavarian State Forests shows how important it is that communities work together to increase their quality of life and realize sustainable projects.
