Pure excitement: Gailbach and Schaafheim have a wrestling showdown!
A thrilling wrestling duel between ASV Schaafheim and TSV Gailbach ended with a narrow 14:17 for the Gailbachers - a result that further fuels the excitement in the Oberliga race! Despite the defeat, sporting director Michael Trippel was enthusiastic: “That was advertising for wrestling!” The two teams are now tied on points, and the decision about the Oberliga champion will not be made until December 7th, when SC Kleinostheim II plays in Schaafheim.
The Schaafheimers had the chance to distance their rivals on the Bavarian holiday and led 14:12 until the last fight. But then Frederik Linz showed his class and won 8-0 against Lukas Buchheimer, which secured the decisive points for the Gailbach team. The spectators, numbering around 400, were in a frenzy for two hours as the contestants battled for every point - a true spectacle that showcased the strength of both teams!
A big step for Goldbach
AC Goldbach celebrated an impressive 22:9 win against SV Fahrenbach on Saturday evening, which secured them a decisive step towards staying in the league. Previously sidelined, 45-year-old Tahir Zaidov showed he can still do it by defeating his opponent Romeo Jardas in the 57kg limit by a stunning 16-1. Goldbach is now four points ahead of bottom team ASV Griesheim and can look ahead to the rest of the season with optimism.
