Three break-ins at the weekend: Aschaffenburg police are asking for information!
Last weekend the region around Aschaffenburg was rocked by a series of break-ins and vandalism. Unknown people not only faked break-ins into several residential buildings, but also set some vehicles on fire, which led to a massive deployment of police and fire departments.
The first burglars appeared on Friday evening: a total of three burglaries were reported in the region between Friday and Sunday. The perpetrators were after cash and jewelry and broke into various residential buildings. An apartment building in Stockstadt was particularly affected, where the apartment doors were opened by unknown persons between Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. However, the stolen goods did not remain without loot; the perpetrators were able to escape unnoticed with valuables.
Vandalism and arson in Sailauf
On Monday morning at 4:20 a.m., residents reported several burning cars in the Kurfürst-Eppstein-Ring in Sailauf. The fire brigade was quickly on site, but was unable to prevent some vehicles from completely burning out. It was also discovered that garbage cans and containers in the area were set on fire and numerous other vehicles were vandalized. The criminal police are assessing the situation as deliberate arson and are hoping for information from the public.
The police immediately launched a major search operation, which also included a police helicopter. Unfortunately, this search for the perpetrator has so far been unsuccessful. Investigators rely on tips from witnesses who saw something or who can provide information about the incidents. Reports can be sent directly to the Aschaffenburg criminal police.
Another security incident occurred on Friday afternoon in Hösbach. There, an unknown person entered a single-family home on Grünewaldstrasse. The resident, who was in the garden at the time, was warned by an attentive neighbor. This informed him about the unwanted intruder. The resident confronted the intruder, who then quickly ran away. Here too, the police are hoping for information about the fugitive man, who is said to have been around 35 years old and around 175 cm tall.
Police reactions and safety tips
In view of these incidents, the criminal police warn urgently about the importance of basic security measures within your own four walls. This includes, among other things, consistently closing all windows and doors, even if you only leave the house for a short time. Many burglars use the opportunity of tilted windows to commit burglaries. In addition, front doors should always be double locked to deter potential intruders. Avoiding leaving keys in hidden places outside is also crucial. According to police, burglars know through experience exactly where hidden keys can often be found.
