Armed robbery in Ansbach: Police are urgently looking for witnesses!

On Saturday evening, January 4, 2025, there was an armed robbery at an H&M branch on Martin-Luther-Platz in Ansbach. The robbery occurred around 6:50 p.m. when five to six masked gunmen threatened the employees and demanded they hand over cash. During the attack, a perpetrator allegedly fired a shot, although this firearm was probably a blank firearm.

The perpetrators fled the store without taking anything. A branch employee suffered minor injuries in the incident. The Ansbach police station immediately launched a manhunt, supported by neighboring departments and a police helicopter. Despite extensive search efforts, the perpetrators initially remained on the run. Since the perpetrators were masked, there is no exact personal description.

Police are asking for information from witnesses

The Central Franconia Criminal Investigation Service has taken over the investigation and is asking the public for help. Witnesses who saw suspicious people on Martin-Luther-Platz shortly before 7 p.m. are particularly in demand.
