Police strikes: 16 searches against children's pornography in the Innkreis!

In the district of Altötting and Mühldorf am Inn, the police searched apartments in a large -scale action on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, which are suspected of being associated with child pornography. The investigators of the Mühldorf amn criminal police, supported by the Traunstein public prosecutor, carried out a total of 16 searches and ensured data carriers, computers and mobile phones. Narcotics were also found among the accused who are between 16 and 60 years old, and in some cases child pornographic material was discovered during the searches.

Investigations under high pressure

The police have set up a “children's pornography working group” in this sensitive area to combat the increasing number of cases. In 2023, 697 cases of child pornographic offenses were registered in the Oberbayern police headquarters, which represents a decrease of 3.3 % compared to the previous year. Despite this decline, the number is still alarming, and the investigators do everything they can to pursue these crimes consistently. The Traunstein public prosecutor's office also specializes in combating sexual crimes and working closely with the police to hold the perpetrators into account.

The searches took place in several municipalities, including Ampfing, Mettenheim and Burghausen, and were made possible by judicial decisions. The civil servants of the "digital forensics" of Commissioner 11 of the Kripo Traunstein have supported the investigators in evaluating the seized evidence. The suspects were released after the police measures have been completed, while the investigation continued intensively in order to clarify the background and the spread of illegal content.
