Life-saving training: resuscitation training in Friedberg!

In critical moments, every move can be crucial. Especially when a cardiac arrest occurs, quick action is required. In order to provide people with the necessary knowledge, World Resuscitation Day is celebrated every year. This year's theme, “Everyone in the world can save a life,” emphasizes the importance of first aid and the commitment needed to save lives.

On October 16th, the official day of action, the emergency doctors from the Kliniken an der Paar and the BRK district association Aichach-Friedberg will come together to raise awareness for resuscitation. In Friedberg, a live training will take place in the Segmüller furniture store from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by a second event on Saturday, October 19th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in front of the Aichach town hall. During these trainings, those interested have the opportunity to learn directly from experts what to do in an emergency.

Training essential for first responders

At both events, participants learn the three essential steps that are indispensable in an emergency: recognition, action and rescue. Chest compressions play a central role, which the participants can train on manikins under the guidance of experienced emergency doctors. These practical exercises are crucial in order to be able to act safely and effectively in real life.

World Restart a Heart Day was first launched in 2018 and has established itself as an important event to increase the chances of survival for patients who suffer sudden cardiac arrest. More than 120,000 people are affected in Germany every year, but only one in ten survivors can attribute this to immediate first aid. Studies show that irreversible damage to the brain can occur after just three to five minutes without oxygen, while the average time until emergency services arrive is nine minutes. It is therefore of great importance that laypeople are also willing and able to help in these critical moments.

The initiative behind the World Day was launched five years ago in Europe and aims to raise awareness of the possibilities of revitalization and the necessary knowledge on a fixed date of the year. The aim is to continually refresh this knowledge so that more people are empowered to act in an emergency.
