On a shocking night in Mannheim, unknown perpetrators wreaked havoc in the main cemetery in Wohlgelegen! In an act of vandalism, several graves were damaged and the police have been alerted. Almost 20 graves in the “Memorial Park Fields” area are affected and the destruction is devastating.
The perpetrators primarily targeted grave lamps, which were not only demolished but also partially torn from their anchorage. Wooden crosses were not spared either - they were damaged and the floral decorations were knocked over. The material damage caused is estimated at 1200 euros. A serious blow for the relatives who mourn their deceased.
Police are looking for witnesses!
The Mannheim-Neckarstadt police station has started the investigation and is investigating the case, among other things, for disturbing the peace of the dead in several cases. The police are asking the public for help: Anyone with relevant information about the perpetrators can call 0621/33010. Every clue could be crucial to solving this terrible act and bringing those responsible to justice!
