Forced eviction in Bad Mergentheim: 80 tenants affected due to dangerous condition

Drama in Bad Mergentheim! Around 80 tenants have to immediately look for new apartments because the city has banned the use of their apartment block. The reason? An alarming condition of the building described as “blatant”! Tenants are faced with the shambles of their living situation - and that until November 5th at the latest!

The homeowners' association ignored city orders for two years, which ultimately led to this drastic step. In a worrying letter, the city expressly warns of a “danger to life and limb”. Massive deficiencies, particularly in fire protection, have forced city managers to pull the emergency brake and prohibit use of the building until further notice. Firefighters weren't enough - now everyone has to rely on friends or relatives while the city offers short-term emergency accommodation.

Uncertain future for tenants

The situation on site is tense! Tenants speak of a desolate condition - cold water for months, garbage reaching up to the ceiling and defective heaters. Simone Hoffmann reports about water in sockets and the constant fear of arson. Despite the hopeless situation, real neighborly spirit is evident among the residents. Some, like Leonid Koss, have already found new apartments, while others are desperately searching.

City feels unfairly criticized!

The city of Bad Mergentheim is being heavily criticized on social media, but according to a spokesman, responsibility for this misery lies solely with the community of owners! The city had to act to intervene in time. She even found a solution in advance to restore general electricity and appointed a security service for the fire station. Thanks to this, the last fire could be reported in time, but weeks of inaction by the owners have shocking consequences for the affected tenants!
