Esslingen citizen happy: 80 percent feel comfortable in your city!

A current survey by the city administration of Esslingen am Neckar shows a high satisfaction of the citizens with their living environment. According to the results, 80 percent of Esslinger likes to live in their city. Satisfaction among the older generation is particularly noteworthy: 89 percent of the over 70 year olds were positive about their hometown. In contrast, satisfaction for the 16- to 29-year-olds is only 73 percent.

5000 randomly selected Esslingen were contacted for the survey, with 41 percent, around 2500 people, reacted to the questionnaire. This high participation shows the attachment of the Esslinger with their city. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the younger age groups are underrepresented, while the age group between 50 and 70 years is disproportionately represented. The data was collected between April and May 2024 and presented at the last council meeting of 2024.

The survey, which represents the second great of its kind in Esslingen, deals with various topics such as quality of life, satisfaction, city administration, local politics, mobility, transport, climate protection, digitization and living. Mayor Matthias Klopfer and his administrative team hope that the survey hopes for important knowledge about the need for action and topics for improvement for the city.
