In Böblingen there was an incident in a bar on Tuesday evening that brought the police to the scene. At around 10:40 p.m., a tumultuous altercation involving several people occurred in Seegärtle, a popular meeting place on Tübinger Straße. The police are now investigating two men, aged 62 and 35, for grievous bodily harm.
The situation developed when a 30-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man were sitting at a table. A 56-year-old woman and the suspected perpetrators were nearby. According to reports, there are family connections between those involved, but these are strained by a recent conflict between the 30-year-old and the 35-year-old. The trigger for the escalation was an argument between the 56-year-old woman and the 55-year-old man, which became so violent that the two at the table of the 30-year-old and the 55-year-old apparently wanted to leave the restaurant.
Violent escalation
The 62-year-old and the 35-year-old man suddenly attacked the couple. In addition to physical violence, cutlery was also used as weapons. The situation quickly developed into a dangerous collision that affected several guests at the restaurant. Witnesses to the scene immediately alerted the police, who arrived with several patrol cars to control the situation.
When the officers arrived, the situation in the restaurant was chaotic. A 25-year-old guest who moved towards an officer against police instructions was eventually stopped with pepper spray. This man later turned out to be a witness to the incident. Police also had to arrest the 62-year-old and 35-year-old suspects, both of whom also had minor injuries. After the necessary police measures were taken, they were released, but the investigation into the case remains ongoing.
The 30-year-old woman and the 55-year-old man, both slightly injured, received medical attention and were taken to hospital. The background to the conflict and the exact course of the dispute are now being examined by the investigating authorities. The police have started an investigation to gain clarity about what happened in Seegärtle.
