40 years old: A lighthouse of hope for those affected by MS!

An impressive anniversary was celebrated: The Amsel Contact group in Friedrichshafen/Bodenseekreis, which has been there for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) for an incredible 40 years, was duly appreciated! Minister Manne Lucha praised the tireless work of the members, who form a real solidarity community due to their helpfulness and their commitment. "They are a lighthouse for all of us, they have power," he called enthusiastically!

The contact group not only offers support for social and psychological issues, but also with medical care for around 250,000 MS patients in Germany. Around 34,500 affected people live in Baden-Württemberg, and five new diagnoses are made every day. The head of the group, Simone Rathke, and the young initiative, represented by Heidi Wirth, informed the guests about the challenges and the importance of self -help. "Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that cannot be healed," said Wirth.

Mayor Andreas Hein emphasized that the Amsel is not only supported by the sick people through advice, but also through exchange and self-help groups. "Here, where people live, they have been doing valuable work for 40 years. Nice that they exist!" Said Hein. Tamara Auer from the Health Office Bodenseekreis and Sabine Gwarys from the Amsel Landesverband also did not miss the opportunity to express their words of thanks.
