Art against darkness: How Kai Pleschke gives hope with painting

A fight against the darkness! Kai Pleschke, 26 years old, used his time in the clinic to combat his depression by creating impressive works of art. With bright colors and strong emotions, he expresses what many don't dare to say. In his new studio, between colorful walls and sparkling creativity, Kai finds the courage to capture his deepest feelings on canvas.

Art is more than just a hobby for him - it was his salvation! During his five-month stay in the hospital, Kai painted almost 400 pictures. Initially in dark tones, his style increasingly developed towards brighter, more vibrant colors. “I only had three colors at the beginning, but the better I got, the more colorful my works became,” says the Orsenhausen native. These aren't just pictures; they are proof of his survival!

An exhibition full of hope

Now, almost a year later, Kai is opening his second exhibition in the popular Café Luv in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt. “Here you find hope and can arrive,” explains Raphael, who runs the café. Kai wants to use his story to encourage others and show that mental health is no longer a taboo topic. He says, “I want to encourage others to share my experiences and show that you don’t have to face these struggles alone.”

His work can be found on Instagram at @kailiebtmalen, and anyone who would like to exhibit his paintings or learn more about his art can contact him via email. Artificial miracles, born of fighting spirit - that's Kai Pleschke's way to transform darkness into light!
