Students in Austria should hurry up! The deadline for applying for student aid for the 2024/25 academic year is Sunday, December 15th. How 5min.at reports, students can receive up to 705 euros per month, an important support for many who are dependent on help due to their parents' financial situation. Federal Minister Martin Polaschek emphasizes that the federal government has implemented extensive measures to support students in recent years, which are even adjusted to inflation.

The requested study grant can simply be submitted via the website www.stipendium.at or at one of the six scholarship offices in Austria. In addition to study grants, students are also legally entitled to other grants, including a mobility grant automatically when they receive the grant. This funding also includes the self-sustainability scholarship and support for studying abroad and thus offers valuable financial incentives for students.

Requirements and application details

In order to be eligible for study aid, students must meet certain requirements. Loud oesterreich.gv.at Social need, academic success and compliance with statutory study periods are crucial. As a rule, they have to start studying before their 33rd birthday and are not allowed to have a completed degree. This obligation to provide financial support from parents applies until the students are able to support themselves, and the maximum aid is 1,072 euros per month.
