Styria is expecting 16,000 guests at the largest ball in Europe!

The Styrian Farmers' Association Ball, the largest ball event in Europe, will transform the Graz town hall into a festive spectacle on February 28, 2025. Renovating the event site requires a whole week of energy to push the boundaries with 40,000 square meters of ball space for up to 16,000 visitors. With seven stages, nearly 70 bars and over 30 musicians, guests are offered an unforgettable experience, while the atmosphere is brought to life by 3,500 flowers and decorative plants, such as ORF Styria reported.

A festival of music and cuisine

This year the motto of the ball is “It will be sociable with Styrian wine” to celebrate regional wines and Styrian culture. The event's outfitter and fresh food supplier emphasizes that the ball now has a significant economic impact of around six million euros. This impressive sum flows directly into the pockets of various industries, from traditional costumes to gastronomy to taxi companies - they all benefit from around 3,000 additional overnight stays and 540,000 euros in total tax contributions, such as The Styrian notes.

The musical highlight of the evening is the exciting performance by Melissa Naschenweng at 11 p.m. in the Holzarena. The Edlseer and the Lauser will also have the dance floor under control. For all dance enthusiasts, a special dance by Willi Gabalier with students from agricultural schools will be highlighted in order to underline the high importance of dancing in Styrian culture. The event aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas and brings together people from all walks of life and professions to celebrate together.

Another highlight is the more than 850 square meter Schmankerlstraße, which offers regional delicacies, including high-quality meat, award-winning cheese and exquisite wines from 60 different Styrian winemakers. The Farmers' Union Ball is therefore not only a glamorous celebration, but also an important economic engine and a showcase for the region's excellent products.
