Reading pleasure in Burgenland: Children celebrate with Thomas Brezina!
Frauenkirchen, Österreich - The Kindergarten Rust and the elementary school Frauenkirchen really cleared up in a creative competition as part of the reading initiative "Reading-Comprehension" launched by Education Councilor Daniela Winkler! The children showed their drawing talent by putting animals from the popular book series "The Flying Castle" by Thomas Brezina creatively. The radiant winners were chosen from more than 500 submissions. Your reward? An exciting reading with the fabulous children's book author himself, while the other winners received book packages, such as the State media service Burgenland reported. On Thursday, the eagerly awaited reading took place in Rust and in the ballroom of Frauenkirchen, in which Brezina brought his stories to life.
"The Flying Castle" inspires small readers
In the course of the “Reading-Comprehension” project, Brezina wrote a unique book for Burgenland children, which is matched to the age group of five to ten years. The story is not only exciting, but also anchored locally - it plays in Burgenland and promotes reading of the reading among the little ones. Education Councilor Winkler praised the author's commitment, because personal encounters with such a famous writer enormously increased the reading pleasure among the children. The series of books will be distributed to around 40,000 kindergarten and elementary school children and their educators in the coming weeks, reports Burgenland .
The innovative concept aims to make reading tasty to the elementary school students and to offer them a real adventure through stories. Each of the three stories that are interacted lets the children go on an exciting journey through Burgenland. Brezina explained that the quality of the books and illustrations is particularly important to emphasize the value of reading and to stimulate the imagination of the children - a valuable contribution to the promotion of reading that recognizes the cultural heritage of the region.
