Reading promotion in danger: reading ends abruptly due to children's chaos!
Elementary school students in Ihlienworth and Neuenwalde experienced a special literary highlight when author Jörg Isermeyer read to them. At the event, organized by the EWE Foundation, over 330 children enjoyed his story "Badger and Rocket. Off to the City!", which was successfully accompanied by humorous accordion sounds. “This reading trip is a central part of our reading promotion initiative,” explained Dr. Stephanie Abke. With events in various cities in the region that have been taking place since November 15th, the EWE Foundation is promoting children's reading skills and supporting literary education. Cuxhaven district reported, under the guidance of their teachers and librarians, the children were enthusiastic about the stories and even asked for the author's autographs.
Interruption of the reading in Nordenham
Both events illustrate the challenges that authors can face when reading in schools, as well as the great importance of promoting reading today. Such initiatives by the EWE Foundation are crucial for the development of language and reading skills among children, which should be promoted through interactive stories and experiences.
