A Zeppelin pilot tells: fly over Lake Constance!

A fascinating sight awaits the passengers who are waiting for the Zeppelin on the hangar in Friedrichshafen. The 75 -meter -long Zeppelin NT, which is now controlled by Marko Hollerer, attracts everyone's attention. Marko, an experienced Zeppelin pilot, is one of only 17 worldwide who practice this unique profession. With an impressive training and over 2300 flight hours, he is ready to conquer the air.

Marko Hollerer, who originally dates from Styria in Austria, found his way to the Zeppelins more by chance. After training as an electrical and environmental technician, he initially applied to a regional airline, but was attracted to the majestic appearance of the Zeppeline in Friedrichshafen. "For me there was only Zeppeline in connection with Hindenburg," he recalls. After three years of training and intensive preparations, he is now ready to take the passengers on an unforgettable trip.

The exciting everyday life of a Zeppelin pilot

Preparations for the flight begin two hours before departure. Marko analyzes weather data and plans every aspect of the flight to ensure the safety of passengers. "With us it is important to react early," he says. Despite the challenges that the weather can bring with it, the prediction that day is promising.

When the Zeppelin finally lifts off, the passengers are enthusiastic. Marko controls the airship manually, which gives him the opportunity to react directly to the weather conditions. "We really fly everything manually," he explains proudly. The flight leads over the breathtaking landscape of Lake Constance, and Marko enjoys maintaining his passengers with information and stories about the region.

After a long working day, Marko uses free time to explore nature around Lake Constance. Whether hiking in the Alps or with stand-up paddling on the water, it has settled in well in the region and enjoys the advantages of his new home. "There are super nice hiking opportunities," he enthuses. Marko Hollerer is not only a Zeppelin pilot, but also a passionate explorer who combines the beauty of aviation and nature.
