New playground in Biesdorf: Where children can run safely!
After months of construction and planning work, the playground at the Biesdorf butterfly meadows in Marzahn-Hellersdorf was opened again for the children on Wednesday. As the Berliner Zeitung , a comprehensive renovation had to be removed because the central play equipment had to be removed for the safety of the children ensure. The newly designed play area now inspires with modern devices, including towers, slides and an inclusive swing that is also accessible to wheelchair users. This inclusive design enables children with disabilities to play safely.
The requirements that must be taken into account in the construction and renovation of playgrounds are regulated by the EN 1176 standard. This determines security standards that operators of public playgrounds have to commit to guarantee security for all children. The Page Kita-ausstatter.de explains that the standard, among other things, sets requirements for the construction, installation and inspection of play equipment. This also includes important aspects such as fall protection and the distance between devices to avoid injuries.
The new features of the playground also includes a special carpet fleece at the end of the slide, which facilitates access for wheelchair users. For the safety of the children, freshly planted lawns and trees are temporarily cordoned off. Compliance with the EN 1176 laws is ensured by regular inspections by qualified specialists, which not only makes the new playground inviting, but also safe.
