Large project at the St. Vincentius Hospital: start demolition work!

Holzstraße, 67346 Speyer, Deutschland - An important step for the future of the St. Vincentius Hospital in Speyer: On Wednesday, the construction of a new protective roof at the main entrance was completed, as the Rheinpfalz reported. This striking red construct will serve as an important part of an extensive construction project, which is to begin in spring 2025 with the demolition of the fourth floor of the house A1. The aim is to build a new floor after the demolition and to establish a connection to the new building A2 and at the same time set up 37 additional beds for patients.

Financial aspects and schedule

The overall project costs 14.3 million euros, with a large part of the costs - 11.1 million euros - being financed by grants from the country. "With the protective roof, we take the first step to implement these measures," said Phillip Nowak, the head of administration of the hospital. In 2025, the construction of a larger scaffold as well as the upcoming gutting and renovation work inside the building are also planned. These start in the eighth calendar week (KW), with a visible starting signal for the demolition work for the fourth floor on the twelfth calendar week, i.e. from March 17th.

This major project is an urgently needed step to modernize medical facilities in the region. The calendar week also plays a major role here, since the work will have to be coordinated in the coming months and years. The first section of the construction project has now been successfully completed, and the continued measures are eagerly awaited.
