Friedberg opens up for Winterstein wind farm: a new hope!
An important step into the future of renewable energies was taken with the approval of the Winterstein wind farm in Friedberg. The Friedberg city parliament has approved a lease with subscription energy with a large majority, which enables the construction of four wind turbines on the winter stone ridge. This facility, which is part of a larger project that also includes the neighboring communities of Rosbach and Wehrheim, is to generate income of almost two million euros annually, such as the Frankfurter Neue Presse reported. Mayor Kjetil Dahlhaus was pleased with the approval that creates the necessary prerequisites to drive the project quickly.
Details on the wind farm
The wind farm extends over a 410 hectare area and is expected to deliver electricity from 2028. The city's citizens also have the opportunity to participate financially without having to make high investments. With her concept "Nah & Grün", ABO Energy offers the chance to get into the project from 500 euros. This benefits new developments, as the city intends to benefit directly from the wind power generated, as is also the case on the website of subscription energy .
However, some approval steps must still be mastered before it comes to the construction. This includes species protection law exams and the approval by the competent authorities according to the Federal Immission Protection Act. The discussion about security services for the dismantling of the wind turbines after the end of the contract shows that there is skepticism as to whether they are well -regulated. In the city parliament, however, it was emphasized that the contract with ABO Energy is considered the best in Germany, which also affects citizen participation to strengthen the regional economy.
