Solemn groundbreaking: New elementary school in Floridsdorf starts!
Dr. Skala-Straße 43-45, 1210 Wien, Österreich - On March 17, 2025, the starting signal for the general renovation and expansion of the Stammersdorf elementary school was given in Vienna. The politicians and representatives from various organizations celebrated the beginning of this pioneering project in the 21st district. The conversion brings with it a modern larch wood facade that blends in harmoniously into the area. Innovative energy concepts such as heat pumps and photovoltaic systems should help to make school sustainably and make a larger contribution to climate protection, as has already been emphasized by the education spokeswoman Dolores Bakos (NEOS).
modern learning rooms for the future
In order to meet the requirements of a growing city, the existing building is converted into a modern, barrier -free room concept. In the renovation, Emmpfehung of the City of Vienna - Schools and UIV Urban Innovation Vienna is observed in order to actively involve the opinions of pupils, teachers and parents in the planning process. Events such as planning circles and creative workshops promote the exchange and the sense of community to capture the wishes and needs of everyone involved.
The construction will be completed by summer 2026, whereby the entire completion is targeted in 2027. After the renovation work, the school will have 22 educational rooms and additional offers for students with special needs. In addition, a spacious sports area with different movement options is introduced. The entire site is designed to offer the students a pleasant learning environment, which illustrates the focus of the city of Vienna on a future-oriented education, as is also the case urbaninnovation.at reports.
