Gino Caviezel after fall: Emotionally intense days – comeback ahead!

Swiss ski star Gino Caviezel has spoken out after a serious fall during the Super-G race in Bormio. The 32-year-old describes the last few days as “painful and emotionally intense.” In his crash, which caused the race to be stopped prematurely, Caviezel suffered a shoulder dislocation and a complex knee injury. These injuries mean that his season is ended prematurely, meaning he cannot take part in the planned World Cup. “I will come back stronger,” he insists as he poses on crutches in the snow, showing his fighting spirit. Loud 20 minutes Caviezel must undergo further medical examinations to establish a clear rehabilitation and comeback plan for next season.

Serious fall and acute treatment

The accident occurred last weekend when Caviezel went off the track while driving through a gate at high speed, around 100 km/h, and fell. The incident was described as a “horror sight” that left the audience breathless. Immediate help was needed: a rescue helicopter transported him to a hospital in Zurich, where his serious injuries were treated. There were also several crashes on the same route during training, which underlines the dangerous conditions crown reported. Caviezel, who has previously been largely spared from serious injuries, has experience with serious falls, including breaking his collarbone seven years ago.

Despite the setbacks, the athlete remains optimistic. “The last few days have been very difficult,” explains Caviezel on Instagram, while also thanking his fans for their support. He hasn't given up on the sport that means a lot to him and is working to come back stronger.
