SV Todesfelde secured the title with a thrilling 1-0 win in the final of the Indoor Masters in Kiel. Falk Schmidt scored the decisive goal 23 seconds before the final whistle, making him a hero of the game. The 24-year-old player described this moment as “the greatest moment of his career so far”.
In a sold-out stadium in front of 8,650 spectators wearing the colors yellow and blue, SV Todesfelde met SC Weiche Flensburg in the final. With this victory, the team secured their second Masters title in the club's history Sports show reported.
The path to the title
SV Todesfelde started the tournament with mixed feelings, as they happily finished level on points and goals with SV Eichede in the preliminary round, but advanced with a 1-0 win in a direct comparison. In the semi-finals, the team beat VfB Lübeck 3-2, with Christian Rave scoring the winning goal in the last minute. In the other semi-final, Flensburg clearly won against Phönix Lübeck 4-1.
For the individual award, Sandro Plechaty from SC Weiche Flensburg showed outstanding performances and was top scorer with four goals. He was also named the best player of the tournament. On the Death Fields side, Fabian Landvoigt was voted the best goalkeeper. For winning the Indoor Masters, SV Todesfelde will receive prize money of 5,000 euros. The defending champion Kilia Kiel had to admit defeat in the preliminary round.
