Innsbruck is once again awarding the “Diversity Prize” to honor outstanding projects that promote respectful coexistence. Since 2008, this prize has been awarded regularly to initiatives that promote intercultural exchange and strengthen understanding between different cultures. This award is a profound recognition of the commitment of associations that make a significant contribution to our multicultural society, especially in times that are often characterized by racism and polarization, as the jury explains. The “Hindiba” project, which supports women in their independence, stands out among this year’s nominees. The association offers workshops and events that make it possible to reduce fears and overcome cultural barriers. The innovative concept of intercultural, bilingual team teaching, in which German and Arabic native speakers offer language courses together, is also gaining in importance. The aim is to give the participants the necessary language skills to enable them to appear confident and confident in everyday situations.

Call for participation

The city of Innsbruck invites all interested groups and individuals to submit their projects for the “Diversity Prize – Promoting Coexistence” by November 8th. With this prize, which is endowed with 4,000 euros, the city would like to honor initiatives that have a specific connection to the city and the area of ​​integration.
