Austrians love AI: acceptance and usage at record high!

The acceptance of artificial intelligence (AI) is showing a significant increase in Austria. According to a recent study by the management consultancy EY, published on July 8, 2025, 64% of Austrians have a positive attitude towards AI. This number marks an increase of 12 percentage points compared to the previous year. In a European comparison, positive acceptance is 70%, which represents an increase of 7 percentage points compared to 2024. The survey covered almost 5,000 employees in nine European countries, including 500 from Austria.

The study not only highlights the increasing levels of acceptance, but also the widespread use of AI applications. 78% of respondents in Europe are currently using AI applications, an increase of 6 percentage points compared to the previous year. In Austria, the user share rose from 69% in 2024 to 73%. The high usage is particularly notable in Switzerland, where 85% of respondents use AI applications, followed by Spain and Portugal with 83% each.

Positive experiences with AI

Another notable aspect of the study is user satisfaction. In Europe, 83% of respondents reported good or very good experiences with AI, while 20% had exclusively positive experiences. The figures for Austria are also optimistic: 79% of Austrians express themselves positively about their experiences. This indicates increasing acceptance and trust in the technology.

The most commonly used AI applications in Europe include text generation tools (61%), voice assistants (39%) and chatbots (39%). In Austria, text generation tools in particular, such as ChatGPT, are used by 60% of those surveyed. Chatbots are also popular at 42%, followed by voice assistants at 40%. These numbers show how AI technologies are integrated into people's everyday lives and how they are increasingly viewed as useful tools.

Technologies behind text generation

Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing text creation in particular. Technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning are at the heart of these developments. NLP analyzes grammar, syntax and semantics to generate stylistically appealing texts. Models like GPT-4, Claude and Gemini are leaders in the application of AI to text creation. Precise entries, so-called prompts, are crucial for the quality of the generated content.

The benefits of AI copywriting are many. Not only does it enable enormous time savings - texts can be created within seconds or minutes - but it also shows cost efficiency and consistency. Currently, 22% of companies use generative AI for their text creation. However, despite the benefits, human reviewers remain important to ensure content quality.

The development of AI will continue to progress in the future. Expectations regarding multimodal approaches and personalized content are up in the air, while ethical issues and human control remain important. AI copywriting is a supporting tool and will significantly change the way content is created.

Overall, the increasing acceptance of AI in Austria and the broader use of these technologies reflect an important development. The integration of AI into everyday life shows that more and more people are becoming comfortable with the possibilities of this technology. At the same time, it becomes clear that ethical and qualitative challenges cannot be ignored.
