Tiwag donates 10,000 euros: support for children in need!
Tiroler Wasserkraft AG (Tiwag) is once again showing its commitment to social issues this year by handing over two generous Christmas donations of 10,000 euros each to important projects in Tyrol. These handovers, which took place on December 15, 2024, focus on supporting the “Tiroler Kinderhilfe e.V.” as well as the youngCaritas project “Take Care – Take Action”, which deals with the mental health of young people.
Erich Entstrasser, CEO of Tiwag, emphasized that the multiple crises of recent years, such as wars, inflation and the pandemic, are putting many families under pressure and increasing their vulnerability to poverty. “The children suffer particularly from these tense conditions,” says Entstrasser. The Tiroler Kinderhilfe e.V. aims to improve the living conditions of families with large children through its voluntary work and to give them prospects for better education. Every euro donated goes directly to children in need Dolomitenstadt reported.
Mental health support
In addition to this donation, the youngCaritas project “Take Care – Take Action” received a significant financial grant. This project aims to strengthen the mental health of young people by providing low-threshold offers to promote resilience and raise awareness of the importance of mental health. According to Entstrasser, the stress on young people has increased enormously due to social media, social crises and other factors such as the corona pandemic. “It is crucial to support projects that address these challenges,” he said at the donation ceremony. From January 2024, around 160 workshops will be offered throughout Tyrol to reach around 3,000 young people My district reported.
Tiwag's annual Christmas donation highlights the importance of supporting social projects that support disadvantaged groups in Tyrol. In the past, donations have been used, for example, to renovate the SOS Children's Village and to various social institutions that are committed to improving living conditions in Tyrol.
