Graz, Österreich - Graz shines in cheers! The Afro-Asian Institute (AAI) was honored with the Human Rights Prize of the State of Styria in 2024. This significant award is not only recognized by the institute's outstanding work, but also with prize money of 7,500 euros. At the ceremonial ceremony, which took place in the White Hall of the Graz Castle, Stefan Hermann (FPÖ) presented the award, accompanied by high-ranking guests like historians Dieter-Anton Binder, who praised the bridge construction work of the AAI in his speech. According to the online portal of the Graz-Seckau diocese, the AAI is awarded for its use in the intercultural dialogue between different cultures and religions. The jury chairman Brigitte Scherz-Schaar and the governor's deputy Manuela Khom (ÖVP) were also present and paid tribute to the institute's commitment.
