Franziska fulfills her last wish to return home: an emotional farewell!

On September 4, 2025, the club fulfilled Rolling angels the last wish of Mrs. Franziska from Esternberg, Upper Austria. After two years in a nursing home, the seriously ill woman expressed her heartfelt desire to return to her homeland one last time to experience her family and the memories of her home. Volunteer members of the association, including Nicole, Sabrina and Florian, ensured that this wish was put into practice.

Franziska was brought to her hometown in a specially equipped vehicle that was designed to meet the needs of bedridden people. These so-called “rolling angels” are equipped with medical equipment and offer a pleasant atmosphere for transporting seriously ill people. When they arrived, relatives and neighbors were waiting to welcome them.

A final visit full of memories

The visit to her home was lovingly prepared. The table was set with coffee and cake, and the family gathered around Franziska to talk to her and caress her hands. However, during this emotional meeting the patient suffered an epileptic seizure. Fortunately, the dedicated volunteers were medically trained and were able to help quickly.

After a first short seizure, Franziska fell asleep peacefully. However, a more severe attack later occurred, causing the team to end the wish-fulfillment. This represents a sad turn of events that shows how precarious Franziska's health was. The 76-year-old died a few days after this last visit.

The work of the Rolling Angels

The Union Rolling angels fulfills heartfelt wishes for seriously ill people in Austria free of charge. The target group is people who are seriously ill, bedridden and unable to be transported. The wishes are planned and implemented within a few hours and are valid for one day, with one passenger and one companion being transported.

The commitment of these volunteers is of great importance. They ensure safe transport and ensure that the wishes of sick people are fulfilled so that they can enjoy their final joys and memories.

Communication and support for relatives is of great importance in such difficult times. So conveyed muttergeist.de that emotional sympathy and the offer of support can help make difficult times easier for those affected and their relatives. Words can provide comfort and encourage positive thoughts - something that was certainly important to Franziska and her family in those final moments.
