CDU plans forced labor for civil money recipients: DGB boss raises the alarm!

The CDU plans to oblige the citizen benefit to work for non -profit work in the Barnim. Katja Karger, the DGB boss Berlin-Brandenburg, criticizes this advance as "unspeakable". She emphasizes that the cliché is repeatedly applied by the "lazy unemployed". The CDU parliamentary group in the Barnim has announced a corresponding application for March, with which a majority in the district parliament could be secured by supporting AfD, free voters and FDP.

The SPD in the country and in Barnim strictly rejects the plans. Karger describes the proposals as "populist" and reminds that forced labor is prohibited in Germany. It points out that the majority of beneficiaries are not unemployed, but for various reasons, such as the care of relatives, child rearing, illness or training, is not available to the labor market.

reactions to the planned measures

Karger demands that the causes of the citizen benefit to fight with good workplaces, livelihood wages and more collective bargaining. Currently, over 31,000 employees in Brandenburg have to increase citizens' allowance because their income is not enough to live. Almost 13,000 people are affected even though they work full -time.

The CDU receives support from AfD and FDP for the demand for an obligation to work, while the Greens and the SPD reject them. The Greens also criticize the bureaucratic effort for municipalities that would have to prove that no regular jobs are displaced.

Aktuell already has the opportunity to oblige civil allowance recipients to 1 euro jobs. The SPD sees Linnemann's initiative as a populist, while the AfD has long been calling for an “activating basic security” that would want to link the citizen benefit with non -profit work. However, under the current federal government is not to be expected that an obligation to work for civil allowance recipients will be introduced, since a change in SGB II would be necessary and the possible introduction depends on future government formation.
