In the diocese of Würzburg there is an important event: The Bonifatiuswerk invites you to a weekend of the encounter in the Burkardushaus from May 23 to 25, 2025. Under the motto "Peace and human dignity - Church can still give hope today", the Sant’egidio community will give an introductory guest lecture. The work of Sant’egidio in Würzburg and its numerous projects is emphasized that aim to strengthen the Christian faith and convey hope in difficult times. 50 years Sant’egidio in Würzburg

As part of a festive memorial event, the Sant’egidio community celebrated its 50th birthday in Würzburg. In a moving speech, the new bishop Franz Jung praised the tireless work of the community, which was the first of its kind outside of Italy in Würzburg in the early 1980s. Bishop Jung emphasized that Sant’egidio plays a crucial role in his mission by hitting bridges to the less privileged people of society, without prejudice and without long discussions. After the solemn service, the anniversary in the community house continued with a colorful celebration, which included all age groups and social classes.
