A Delta Air Lines regional plane arriving from Minneapolis crashed at Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), images of the incident show that the plane landed upside down.

"Emergency teams are on site. All passengers and crew are doing well," the airport said on Platform X. In total, all 80 people aboard Delta Flight 4819 were evacuated, the FAA confirmed.

"Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada at approximately 2:45 p.m. local time," the statement said. The flight came from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Footage from news channel CTV shows the inverted plane on a runway at Toronto Pearson Airport. Rescue workers told CNN partner CP24 that up to eight people were injured in the crash, but the severity of the injuries remains unclear.
Airport officials told CTV News that all arrivals and departures at Pearson Airport have been suspended. According to the FAA's NOTAM system, all of the airport's runways are closed.

Endeavor Air is a wholly owned subsidiary and regional airline of Delta. The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA also said it was responding to the incident and that AFA crew members were involved in the flight.

This crash comes just three weeks after an incident in which an American Airlines flight collided in mid-air with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter while approaching Reagan National Airport in Washington DC. It is also linked to fatal accidents Jeju Air and Azerbaijan Airlines in December.
