The 5th Heinfelser Turmlauf took place on July 19, 2025, an event that not only challenged the participants athletically, but also provided additional excitement due to the prevailing weather conditions. With temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius and the approaching thunderstorm, the event was anything but easy. The starting point was at the historic Punbrugge, while the runners aimed for the highest level of the keep at Heinfels Castle. The distance of the run was 1.1 kilometers, with 140 meters of elevation gain and an impressive 265 steps to overcome.
The competition attracted numerous athletes from the region. Dolomite town reports that Michael Brunner won the day in the racing class with a time of 5:40.3 minutes. He was followed by Armin Leiter in second place with 6:03.2 minutes and Michael Steiner, who took third place, about 25 seconds behind.
Challenges and successes
Laura Steinwandter from ASC 2000 Toblach was the fastest in the women's ranking. She completed the course in 8:16.9 minutes, not only beating the open women's category, but also securing first place in the U18 category. Magdalena Pircher, who ran barefoot and achieved a time of 9:45.1 minutes, triumphed in the hobby class. The other podium places in this category went to Christian Trojer and Michael Prümmer.
An exciting relay race with 11 teams, each consisting of three people, also took place. The FF Glanz team, consisting of Michael, Stefan and Markus Brunner, secured victory. The teams SV Tessenberg and Tessenberg 1 took second place.
Children's run and entertainment
In addition to the main runs, there was also a children's run over 400 meters with 35 meters of elevation and no steps at all. Lukas Gutwenger was the fastest participant and reached the finish line in 1:31 minutes. He was followed by Nico Bodner and Marie Bachmann.
The event ended in a cheerful atmosphere in the evening with music from DJ Dany, while the award ceremony took place before the thunderstorm began. The tower run was organized by the Strassen customs association, which not only ensured the sporting event but also the physical well-being of the participants. Heinfels Castle emphasizes that in addition to the sporting competitions, musical contributions and a social gathering were also part of the program.
