Brilliant Advent: Wreath reading delights in Königsbronn!
The annual wreath singing for primary school students at the Georg Elser School recently took place in the Königsbronn monastery church. This deep-rooted tradition, which dates back to the 14th century, was brought to life with the mesmerizing performance of the Christmas play Under One Blanket. As part of this event, which honored Beatrix von Schlüsselberg's will, the students not only took part in the performance, but also took part in baking the traditional wreaths made of yeast dough, which were distributed to the elementary school students, such as the Georg Elser School reported.
A highlight with fairytale characters
The Christmas play, conducted by a talented team led by Kühling, Knopp and Weiß-Jemaa, featured a heartwarming story about two Christmas elves who get lost in the winter forest. They seek shelter under a blanket, where they are gradually joined by other fairy-tale characters such as Little Red Riding Hood and the Seven Dwarfs. This story charmingly conveys a message of cohesion and community, which is particularly important during the Christmas season. The impressive stage technology and the atmospheric stage design, designed by Pastor Burgenmeister, contributed significantly to the atmosphere of the evening and ensured that the performance went far beyond a normal school performance.
Another eye-catcher was the live broadcast of the event in the monastery courtyard, which gave numerous parents and interested parties the opportunity to take part in this special traditional custom. The Wreath Singing turned out to be not only a cultural festival, but also an event that brought both children and parents together and emphasized the joy of celebrating together and tradition Swabian Post noted.
