Frosty sounds: Christmas concert inspires Schwadorf!
On December 15, 2024, a festive Christmas concert by the Schwadorf Music Association took place in the EMS Schwadorf. Under the musical direction of bandmaster Attila Fuchs, the ensemble impressed with a varied program that included both classical brass music and funny rhythms such as the piece “Caravan”. A special highlight of the evening was the homage to the legendary singer and composer Udo Jürgens. In memory of his sudden death and in honor of his 90th birthday, the piece “Udo Jürgens Life” was performed. Well-known Christmas melodies, including “White Christmas” and “Silent Night, Holy Night”, also created a festive atmosphere and thrilled the audience.
The Schwadorf Music Association, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023 and at the same time the brass band association is looking back on its 70th anniversary, continues to offer a platform for young and old musicians. There are currently 40 musicians active in the club, and preparations for the anniversary celebration are already in full swing. District chairman Johann Lippitsch and deputy Barbara Richter honored long-standing members during the concert, including five musicians with a proud 60 years of active membership. Club chairman Gustav Weber was awarded the Golden Medal of Honor of the Lower Austrian Brass Music Association in recognition of his 30 years in office NOEN.at reported.
The evening concluded with a heartfelt thank you from Gustav Weber to everyone involved and a loving Christmas message to the audience. This event was not only a successful celebration for the community, but also an important step towards strengthening brass music in the coming years.
