Mountain rescue in action: woman from snow emergency on the Feldberg saved!
In the early morning hours of January 3, 2025, the Feldberg mountain rescue station was alerted after a 39-year-old had spent a night in a remote hut above the field. As the Südkurier reported the woman from strong nausea and Circulation problems, which required an immediate rescue.
The emergency services of the Bergwacht Black Forest made their way to the hut with a total of seven people. Since the access routes were made more difficult by the strong snowfall the evening before, the mountain rescuers could only arrive with snowshoes and touring skis. Around 4.20 a.m. they reached the hut, where the patient was loaded to a tub -shaped sled. The transport through the deep snow lasted an hour, then it was transported to the Feldberg mountain rescue station with an off -road vehicle.

The conditions during the use were challenging, which was due to the amounts of snow and the nightly temperatures. When they arrive at the mountain rescue station, the patient was handed over to the road -bound emergency services. The use of the mountain rescue service ended around 7 a.m.
On the same day, the Bergwacht Black Forest on the Feldberg recorded a total of nine other missions, which were mainly due to accidents on the ski slopes. This illustrates the special risk of staying in the mountains during the winter conditions.
